Musical season draws young audiences with new formats

The third Taihu Classical Music Season opened on Sept 25 with the concert When Rock Meets Symphony. This cross-genre performance brought classical music, rock and ethnic music together for younger audiences.

The concert featured conductor Xia Xiaotang and the Beijing Symphony Orchestra with a program that combined orchestral works with rock rhythms and Chinese musical traditions, creating a lively alternative to the conventional concert hall experience.
