Musical season draws young audiences with new formats

Maonan ethnic group singer Mengwa Nuso invited the audience to sing and sway along to traditional songs, including the Opening Song and the Welcome Song. Violinist Tang Susan performed Beijing Charm, blending Peking Opera elements with contemporary orchestral language, rap-style vocals and dance.

The concert also featured selections from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and the Star Wars soundtrack, accompanied by large-scale screens and immersive lighting.

This year's Taihu Classical Music Season runs through Oct 6 with the concert Dancing Amidst the Symphony, presenting a range of performances designed to bring classical music closer to younger audiences through new formats and cross-genre collaborations.
