Starlight concert brings families to Huairou farm

The Dr. Farm Firefly Starlight Music Concert, organized by Huairou district's bureau of culture and tourism, the district's bureau of commerce, and Huairou town's government, was held during the ongoing 2026 Huairou Guochao (China-chic) Cultural Festival, from Saturday to Sunday at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences' Dr. Farm (Guojiawu Base) in Beijing.

Scheduled for the weekend just before International Children's Day, which falls on Monday, the event featured sections such as agricultural education, consumer marketplaces, starlight performances, and intangible cultural heritage workshops, offering a two-day micro-vacation destination for families.

Centered on Chinese aesthetics, the event integrated traditional Eastern ambiance with pastoral ecology. The stage area invited a band from the university and others to perform live, alongside interactive displays of robots. Ecology experts also helped visitors observe fireflies. Against a night sky interwoven with stars and fireflies, accompanied by soothing starlit concert melodies, visitors immersed themselves in the romantic fusion of nature and Chinese chic.
