Nestled at the foot of Yuelu Mountain in Changsha, Yuelu Academy has a history of more than 1,000 years and offers a glimpse into China's long tradition of learning. Founded in 976 during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), it features historic courtyards, lecture halls and inscribed stone steles set amid greenery.
