The popularity of traveling to Dalian, Liaoning province, has spread widely in recent years, attracting professional anglers from far and wide.

Changhai county, located on the eastern side of the Liaodong Peninsula, is China's only island border county. It comprises the Changshan Archipelago, 195 islands of which 18 are inhabited. Here resides the country's first island-based national tourist resort.

"Beyond its exceptional natural endowments, another major advantage of Changhai's fishing grounds is their proximity to land," said Zhang Shengzu, the head of Changhai county.

"The anglers can go fishing in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee in the afternoon, then savor some sashimi in the evening," he said. "The pace is comfortable and pleasant. Fishing for several days is both an enjoyable experience and a way to relax."
