Winter Solstice: Night at its longest

On Winter Solstice, dance between yin and yang reaches its apex. All things await their rebirth, even in the deepest hush of darkness. With wine and food, we honor those before. Beside the hearth, we keep our sweetest lore. Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) poet Ma Zhen wrote in On Winter Solstice: "Behind drawn curtains, all are gathered in play.; Shared warmth and joy melt the winter chill away."
