Swissotel, a hospitality brand under Accor, has recently signed six new agreements in China, extending its presence to Shanghai, Chongqing, Xi'an in Shaanxi province, Changsha in Hunan province, Haining in Zhejiang province and Weihai in Shandong province.

The newly signed projects span a range of locations and development types, including tourist destinations, central urban districts and high-tech development zones. The agreements reflect the brand's continued expansion across different regional markets in China.

Accor Greater China CEO Kent Zhu said Swissotel aims to bring elements of Swiss hospitality and sustainability to the Chinese market, while facilitating cultural exchange between China and Switzerland.

Among the projects is Swissotel Living Shanghai Hongqiao, the brand's first serviced apartment development in China. The project will comprise 190 long-stay apartments designed to serve extended-stay demand in the Greater Hongqiao International Hub area.

Globally, Swissotel operates more than 40 hotels across multiple countries and regions, with additional projects under development. The brand currently has nine hotels in operation in the country, with properties in major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong's Guangzhou and Hainan's Sanya. The Swissotel Guangzhou is among its most recent openings.
