When asked whether the incident left him with lingering fear or doubts about future climbs, Wang said he would still choose to participate next time. "Next time, I might take extra precautions, including preparing my own oxygen mask in advance and keeping the oxygen valve on me as a backup."
Another memorable accident occurred in 2020 while climbing Potala Peak at Siguniang Mountain in Sichuan province. After water bottles in the bag broke, Wang's sleeping bag was soaked with water at an altitude of over 4,300 meters. Forced to sleep in the wet bag for several nights, he endured extreme cold.
Despite the discomfort, he persevered and reached the summit. Afterward, however, he suffered from severe frostbite in his feet, which caused intense pain for weeks. It took him about one month and a half to fully recover. Despite these challenges, Wang enjoys his current life. Having once worked in an office, he finds freedom and fulfillment in his adventurous career.
Talking about his photography skills, Wang revealed that he actually learned the craft through self-study, rather than formal training. "Don't focus on how you want it to turn out. Just shoot. If you pay enough attention to each shot, you'll always gain something from the experience," he advised.
"The greatest motivation for improvement comes from maintaining curiosity about the world around you." He recommends starting by exploring great photography in books, gradually developing one's own aesthetic, and then practicing frequently.
In addition to his commercial work, Wang continues to produce several documentaries each year. "Through my years of shooting, I've met many people and learned their stories. I want to share these stories with the public, to help people understand the purpose behind the actions of those who pursue these extraordinary feats."
