In 2019, roughly 166,000 Spanish tourists visited China and some 700,000 Chinese went to Spain. Holding the event will contribute to further deepening of tourism cooperation between the two sides, enhance participation, perception and sense of gain of the two peoples, and promote the interconnection between the tourism industries of the two countries and the sustainable and inclusive development of global tourism, Zhang added.
The Dialogue for China-Spain Tourism Cooperation will not only help deepen the communication between both sides' tourism departments, but also promote the growth of two-way tourism, said Rosana Marillo Rodríguez, Spanish secretary of State for Tourism. "Under new development circumstances, we continue to upgrade tourism promotion in China and increase international flights for China, in a bid to make Spain the best tourist destination for Chinese tourists," Rodríguez added.
Miguel Sanz, director-general of Spain's National Tourism Organization, believes that two-way communication, dialogue and cooperation between countries are very important for the success of tourism activities.
