Wuzhen festival celebrates spring and cultural heritage

The Wuzhen scenic area in Zhejiang province is gearing up to launch the "Spring in Wuzhen" themed festival, a celebration of the season's beauty and the rich cultural heritage of the Jiangnan water town. 

From March 8 to June 2, the festival will feature a dazzling array of events designed to captivate visitors and immerse them in the unique charm of Wuzhen. Highlights include spectacular fireworks, theatrical performances, food markets offering a taste of local delicacies, energetic band performances, and graceful dance shows. 

In April, the scenic area will introduce an innovative recruitment program. Through this initiative, visitors can sign up via the scenic area's official WeChat platform to vie for the chance to dress up in hanfu, the traditional Chinese garment to become the main character in a festive waterway parade. This immersive experience allows participants to engage deeply in various folk activities and witness traditional acrobatic performances.

Additionally, throughout the festival period, there will be regularly scheduled reading sessions. These gatherings invite visitors to come together in an atmosphere filled with the aroma of books and tea, where they can recite and discuss classic literary works.
