Héctor Gómez, minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism of Spain, said in his video address that the positive forecast of Spanish tourism's data since the beginning of this year promises a successful recovery in 2023 and a possible record high. "There is no doubt about the importance of emerging markets to Spain and Europe. As China is an important outbound travel market for Spain, we are also ready to work together with China to strengthen tourism ties between our two countries to create a brilliant future, making this year full of opportunities and outcomes," Gómez said.
"Chinese and Spanish tourism representatives get together for an in-depth dialogue. I believe this will not only help the tourism industry of the two countries recover and develop after the pandemic, but also play a positive role in expanding personnel exchanges between China and Spain and enhancing the friendship between the two peoples," said Wu Haitao, China's ambassador to Spain and Andorra.
Zhang Xu, president of WTA, said that the tourism cooperation between the two countries has entered the fast lane and the number of tourists between the two countries maintained a steady growth year by year before the pandemic.
