Performances commemorate Long March for teachers and students

An educational event commemorating the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March (1934-36) was recently held in Huining county of Baiyin city, Gansu province.

The event was co-hosted by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, the China National Theatre for Children, and the government of Baiyin city, featuring a variety of activities, including speeches, theatrical performances, singing, and interactive experiences.

During the event, experts in Party history shared with audiences key historical moments of the Long March. Drawing on precious historical materials and vivid revolutionary stories, they provided a detailed interpretation of the extraordinary hardships endured during the Long March, delivering an immersive lesson to more than 680 local teachers and students.

In the theatrical performances staged by the China National Theatre for Children, actors brought to life the moving moments when Red Army soldiers on the Long March braved severe cold, defied hardships, held fast to their faith, and supported one another. Their sincere emotion and delicate portrayal vividly re-created these scenes.

Zhang Xixi from Beijing Xuanwu Foreign Language Experimental School was among the actors.

"On this trip, I revisited the Long March of 90 years ago. I stepped from the small stage of my life onto the great stage of history. Now, I cherish even more the hard-won happy life we have today," Zhang said.
