White Dew (bai lu) is one of China's 24 solar terms, marking the time when the weather begins to turn cooler and the first hints of autumn appear. It is also the season when pomegranates come into their own. Originally from West Asia, pomegranates reached China along the Silk Road and gradually became a beloved autumn fruit, prized for their ruby-red seeds and sweet-tart juice.
