South Korea's second-largest city, Busan, is often described as a more relaxed alternative to the hustle and bustle of the capital, Seoul. Its history, balance of nature and culture, and port industries continue to shape the work of artists who live there.

Since 1999, the Busan Museum of Art has been operating a long-term program, Vision and Perspective, to discover, support and cultivate a younger generation of artists who are from, or have long been based in, the city.

The museum has now brought the fruits of this endeavor to Beijing, presenting them at the Today Art Museum. The exhibition includes works by eight artists across a range of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, installation and photography, and runs through Oct 7.

It shows the scope and diversity of the eight artists, and provides a broader perspective on the generation of artists working in Busan, a major port city with a multicultural environment.
