The visit also included guided tours of two exhibitions, Bada Shanren and Chinese Xieyi Art Since the 17th Century, an exhibition marking the 400th birthday of Bada Shanren, the distinguished Buddhist monk-artist, and Homage to the Virtuosos, a display of Renaissance art from the collection of the Uffizi Galleries in Italy.
During the visit, the children also completed a 16-meter-long painting themed on cultural exchanges between China and Italy, with help from Pan Yikui, director of the National Art Museum and an artist himself.
The exhibition One Meter: Small and Beautiful runs until June 28.
