The World Tourism Cities Federation officially unveiled its Member House in Beijing on June 1, creating a permanent platform designed to serve its 263 member cities and institutions worldwide.

The inauguration took place during the 2026 WTCF Beijing Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit and was attended by 81 member representatives from 36 countries. The plaque was jointly unveiled by WTCF Secretary-General Guo Huaigang and Angie Moreno, deputy mayor of Seville, Spain.

Founded in Beijing in 2012, the WTCF is the world's first international tourism organization centered on cities. Its membership has grown from 58 founding members to 263 members across 89 countries and regions.

The Member House is the federation's first permanent, physical service platform dedicated to its global membership network. Designed as an "always-open international meeting space", it aims to extend exchanges and cooperation beyond the annual summit and provide year-round opportunities for engagement among member cities, tourism organizations and industry partners.

The facility integrates multiple functions, including destination promotion, professional meetings, networking events, and business matchmaking. Exhibition areas feature destination showcases, interactive multimedia displays and cultural experience zones highlighting tourism resources and development achievements from member cities around the world. Meeting facilities are equipped with multilingual interpretation systems and modern conference technology to support forums, investment discussions and industry events.

By providing a permanent venue for showcasing tourism resources and facilitating exchanges, the platform enables member organizations to maintain visibility and engagement year-round. Visitors can learn about the latest developments and tourism offerings from member destinations, while members gain a new channel for regular communication and partnership-building.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Moreno says the Member House transforms relationships among WTCF members from occasional summit gatherings into ongoing connections, creating tangible opportunities for resource sharing and cooperation among tourism cities worldwide.

Guo described the launch as an important step in strengthening ties among the federation's global members and enhancing its service capabilities.

He says that completion of the Member House marks a new platform for promoting international cultural and tourism exchanges and supporting the high-quality development of the tourism industry.

The WTCF will continue to improve its services, expand activities, and provide greater support for member organizations to promote the sustainable prosperity of global tourism, he adds.
