American journalist finds Western echoes and rural hope in Zhejiang's Moganshan

When Haydn, an American journalist for China Daily, first visited Moganshan, he was struck by a wave of nostalgia and deep reflection. Walking through the old streets of Yucun in Moganshan, Deqing county, Zhejiang province, he found himself marveling at the Western-style architecture and streets nestled in an ordinary rural setting. The contrast left him questioning whether he was in China or the United States.
