Poetry fosters mutual understanding at Summer Palace event

A cultural exchange event themed "Sharing poetry, bridging the world" took place on Tuesday at the picturesque Summer Palace in Beijing.

Global scholars, diplomats, influencers, and international student representatives gathered and shared their most cherished pieces, ranging from the classical poems of Tang and Song dynasties (618-1279) to Western romantic verses. Poetry, a shared human language that transcends time and space, became a bridge across which mutual understanding quietly grew.

The celebration, held in honor of the second International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, was co-hosted by China Daily, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and the Summer Palace Administration of Beijing.
