Poetry and romance

Facing the Sea, an exhibition at the Kulangsu Center for Contemporary Art, on Gulangyu Island, Xiamen, Fujian province, displays paintings, prints, sculptures, watercolors and lacquer paintings by dozens of Chinese artists. It is a diverse expression of people's affection for maritime views, eliciting rich feelings.

Not only do the artworks depict the landscapes in reality, but also, there are half-imagined scenes, in which artists have imbued poetic and romantic feelings.

The exhibition also shows flower-themed works to embrace an anticipation of spring. It is through to April 20.
