Chongqing Municipal Quyi Art Troupe

The Chongqing Municipal Quyi Art Troupe was founded in September 1952.

The Troupe is well known for its various kinds of ballad singing and story telling such asqingyin, yangqin, panzi, chedeng, pipa tanchang, heye, qingqiangclappers, clappers talks,pingshu; comic plays, rhymed dialogues,quyisinging, comic play performed in dialects, one-act play, national orchestra and solo performance. Many of its plays have won national prizes, such as, Fengxian Playing Qin, Ridding on Horseback in the Garden, Moving to a New House, Three Daughters-in-law Vying to Live with Mother-in-law, Xiajiang Ferry, Visiting Relative, Meeting and Emergency.

The Troupe has a group of famousquyiperforming artists including Xu Qing, Deng Bixia, Ling Zongkui, Liu Guangyu and Wang Yi.
