Chongqing Municipal Acrobatics Troupe

Established in June 1951, the Chongqing Municipal Acrobatics Troupe was constituted as a combination of 8 acrobatics, magic and circus troupes, such as Martial Arts League of Returned Overseas Chinese, China Magic Troupe and Victory Martial Arts Troupe. More than 40 years, the Troupe has created a lot of excellent acrobatic and magic programs. Among them, Foot Juggling with Umbrella, Footing Juggling with Kid, Double Teams' Pole Climbing, Acrobats on Chair-stack, Bowls Upward Kicking on Unbalanced Board, Cross-shaped Wire Walking, Circle Waving on Wire and Drum Juggling are original creations. Some of the programs have taken part in the shooting of Spring Festival Gala Evening Entertainment by CCTV, Spring Festival Evening Entertainment by the Ministry of Culture, as well as films such as Wild with Joy, Spring Swallow Soaring to Heights, Acrobatics Collection and Laughter of Joy. In recent years, the Troupe's newly created programs―Meteors Playing, Bowls Upwards Kicking on Unbalanced Board, Balancing Substances on Head, Foot Juggling with Kid, Hoops Jumping-through, Plate Spinning, and Circling in the Air―have won 4 golds, 6 silvers, 2 special prizes and more than 10 individual prizes in important competitions both national and international.

Since its establishment, the Troupe has made 60 visits and commercial performance tours to 2000 cities in 50 countries and regions, presenting 4000 performances to the warm welcome and high acclaim of audiences in various countries and regions.

The Troupe's famous artists at present include: Yang Shaoyuan, Quan Liandi, He Tianchong and Wang Yafei.
