This version achieved new heights in choreography, dramatic logic and character development, earning recognition as one of the best interpretations in the international ballet scene. From the pioneering 1958 production to Makarova's meticulous version, generations of National Ballet of China artists have dedicated their passion and expertise to this masterpiece, creating a uniquely Chinese artistic lineage.

This revival stars seasoned performers with extensive experience in the production, as well as younger dancers making their debuts. Together with the company's world-renowned corps de ballet, they bring the classical elegance and precision of Swan Lake to life, captivating audiences with every pirouette and formation.

The symphony orchestra of the National Ballet of China boasts a specially arranged lineup for this revival, joined by legendary 90-year-old Chinese conductor Bian Zushan. All three have decades of experience in ballet music and an intimate understanding of Tchaikovsky's dramatic textures and the pacing of ballet, ensuring a performance rich in nuance and emotion.

The Swan Lake revival will continue at Beijing's Tianqiao Theatre through June 6.
