An increasing number of international visitors are exploring Yunnan province via the China-Laos Railway, with the Mohan Railway Port reporting a more than 51 percent increase in entries and exits during the summer travel period from July 1 to Sep 1.
Carole Ghilaine M Lequet, a Belgian tourist, said at the Mohan Railway Port that she traveled to Kunming and was impressed by its pleasant weather. "We ate mushrooms in Kunming and had a great time walking in the old town, which was really nice," she added.
Saiyfon Manyzod, an international student from Laos, noted that before the China-Laos Railway was operational, she had to endure a long bus journey to reach Yunnan. "Now that I take the train, my travel time is much shorter," she said.
According to local authorities, during the summer travel period, four China-Laos international trains operated daily in both directions, with each train offering 420 cross-border seats. This service, which enables morning departures and evening arrivals, has become a popular choice among tourists.
