Street dance program gets young people grooving

More than 1,200 young street dancers from over 100 cities across China gathered at Beijing's Shougang Park from July 16 to 19 for the "Huaxia Street Dance · Youth of a Great Nation" program's national finals, transforming the iconic Winter Olympics venue into a vibrant stage for youth, culture and creativity.

Set against the striking backdrop of the Shougang Big Air slope, former cooling towers and preserved industrial structures, the four-day event brought together participants from more than 20 provincial-level regions to compete, perform, and exchange ideas through dance.

Since launching in October 2025, the nationwide program has attracted more than 18,400 young dancers, received over 1,600 original works, and drawn more than 75,000 audience members, with related online content surpassing 100 million views. The national finals featured dancers selected through regional competitions across the country.
