Street dance program gets young people grooving

The event included group performances, provincial team battles, all-style dance battles, breaking competitions, and masterclasses. Internationally acclaimed dancers and judges, including Han Yu, Yang Kai and Wang Han, offered professional guidance through competitions, demonstrations and workshops.

The closing gala on July 19 showcased original works that blended street dance with traditional Chinese cultural elements, including martial arts, opera movements, classical aesthetics, and regional folk traditions. Rather than simply incorporating traditional motifs, the performances drew inspiration from local history, hometown culture and everyday life, offering fresh interpretations through the language of street dance.
