A documentary about a dedicated member of the Communist Party of China premiered in Beijing on Wednesday evening as a tribute to the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.

The film, Xianwei Shuji Gu Wenchang (County Party Secretary Gu Wenchang) chronicles the life of Gu Wenchang (1915-81), the former Party secretary of Dongshan county in Fujian province, who devoted 14 years to improving the lives of local residents.

During his tenure, Gu led efforts to combat wind and sand erosion, dug wells and built reservoirs to ease chronic flooding and drought, and constructed roads, seawalls, harbors, and salt pans, laying the foundation for the county's long-term development.

His work transformed Dongshan from a barren, wind-swept coastal county into a thriving community. Last year, the average net income of local farmers reached 4,171 yuan ($613.20), making Dongshan one of Fujian's first batch of moderately prosperous counties.

The premiere was held at the Central Party School of the Communist Party of China, drawing about 1,400 attendees, including Gu's family members and the film's production team.
