In the keynote session, Tang Wensheng, adviser to the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the China Academy of Translation, stated that artificial intelligence has significantly reshaped translation work, but highlighted the necessity of human oversight.
"In the AI era, humans remain essential when working on critical political, economic, and cultural documents. Particularly in the Chinese context, metaphors, idioms, proverbs, and key expressions unique to socialism with Chinese characteristics require precise understanding and interpretation," she said.
Tang also stressed the importance of training skilled translators capable of producing accurate and expressive translations, while navigating the intersection of AI technology and cross-cultural communication.
