As part of the ongoing 14th Beijing International Film Festival, a special screening was organized with the aim of expanding the presence of Chinese movies in the overseas market, drawing a diverse international audience on April 20.
The event saw the participation of representatives from Chinese embassies in Pakistan, France, Jordan, Guyana, Germany, and the Netherlands, as well as members from film associations of African countries, Switzerland, the United States, and Brazil. Notably, it also attracted film producers and distributors from Spain, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Cambodia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Featuring a lineup of over 70 high-quality Chinese films, the screening included notable titles such as Chang'an, an animated blockbuster that recounts stories of esteemed poets from the Tang Dynasty (618-907); Pegasus 2, which portrays the triumphant journey of a former racing car star; and My Country, My Parents, an anthology reflecting the indomitable spirit of the Chinese people.
Xu Yang, director of the international department of China Film Administration, expressed his hope that the event would serve as a platform to introduce Chinese films to a wider global audience, offering a comprehensive, multidimensional, and vivid portrayal of modern China to the world.
