The inauguration ceremony for the second China Arts Festival in the EU was held at the China Cultural Center in Brussels on Oct 6, local time.
The 2nd Brussels Chinese Film Festival & 1st China-EU Youth Short Film Festival, as well as ONE® IS MORE chamber concert were also introduced at the ceremony.
ONE, established by Piccardi Symphony of France, is the largest orchestral cooperation platform in Europe. Artists from France, Slovenia, Bulgaria and China performed several numbers from both East and West, including Delson's Eight String Quartet and Vivar's Fourth Violin Concerto, as well as The Moon Over a Fountain, written by renowned Chinese composer Wu Zuqiang.
As a highlight of the festival, the second Brussels Chinese Film Festival will be held from Oct 12 to 19 at theaters in Flagey, a famed cultural and arts center in Belgium. The eight day festival will provide the essence of Chinese films in recent years to European audiences.
The first China-EU Youth Short Film Festival aims to deepen exchange and communication among youths of China and Europe. 13 works by Chinese university students and Institut National Supérieur des Arts du spectacle et des techniques de diffusion will be showcased. "The Beauty of Chinese Characters", organized by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, is scheduled to open on Oct 19. The event, which includes shows for calligraphy, art and photography, as well as a China-EU cultural industry forum, will run until December.
