As the earliest established and most enduring honor for television works, the 35th Feitian (Flying Apsaras) Awards unveil the nominees for its latest edition in Yantai, Shandong province, on Oct 9.
A total of 48 TV dramas have earned nominations. Among the most popular titles are Silent Honor, adapted from the real-life story of Wu Shi, the highest-ranking Kuomintang military official secretly working for the Communist Party of China; To the Wonder, showcasing Altay's cultures and landscape in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region; and The Legend of Zang Hai, a young man's decade-long quest for revenge after the massacre of his family.
Simultaneously, the 29th China Television Arts Starlight Awards, the highest government honor recognizing television works, has announced its 85 nominated works, including the variety show Three Meals and Four Seasons' Season 2, the documentary Chinese White Dolphin, and the artistic program Zong Shi Lie Zhuan (Chronicles of the Grand Masters).
The award ceremony for both honors is co-hosted by the National Radio and Television Administration and the Shandong provincial government and is scheduled to air on 13 satellite TV channels and their related new media platforms.
