Beijing Happy Valley launches new immersive festival

Beijing Happy Valley recently kicked off the Amazing Pop Carnival, an immersive festival running through Nov 15 that invites visitors to cross the line between audience and stage.

Set across six themed zones, the carnival features more than 300 non-player characters, or NPCs, more commonly known as actors or actresses. With a continuously refreshed lineup of shows and interactive experiences, the event aims to turn passive spectators into active participants.

NPCs portray specific characters, converse with visitors, and deliver interactive experiences. They also guide visitors through an array of activities, including mini challenges and dramatic scenes. Over 100 NPCs roam the theme park grounds, ready to engage with guests wherever they go.

More than 100 live performances take place each day, such as pop-up street shows. Visitors can enjoy live vocals spanning diverse musical styles. During daytime and nighttime float parades, various costumed performers dance along the parade route and stop to pose for photos with guests.

Over the past two decades, Beijing Happy Valley has gradually evolved from a traditional theme park into an urban lifestyle destination with cultural experiences, leisure and entertainment, and premium consumption, meeting the diverse demands of local residents.
