Helan Mountains rock art, Yinchuan, Ningxia

On the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains, the cliffs at Helankou preserve more than 6,000 ancient rock carvings, created by people over thousands of years. The carvings offer glimpses into everyday life in the distant past, depicting scenes of hunting, ritual ceremonies, herding, and more. Among them, the distinctive human-face carvings are especially striking.
