Maldives showcases its tourism resources to Chinese travelers

The Maldives showcases its tourism resources and luxury resort offerings to the Chinese market during a tourism promotion event held in Beijing on Saturday.

Among the attendees were Fazeel Najeeb, ambassador of the Maldives to China; Abdul Haris, head of the Maldives' civil aviation authority; Ibrahim Iyas, managing director of Maldivian; Sabeeha Ahmed, chief operating officer of Maldives Tourism; and Alina Guo, chairwoman and general manager of Beijing Guoce International Conference and Exhibition Center.

Addressing the gathering, Najeeb highlighted the Maldives' tourism appeal and premium hospitality offerings, while reviewing progress in tourism cooperation between China and the Maldives. He also expressed optimism about expanding bilateral exchanges and attracting more Chinese visitors to the Indian Ocean destination.

Guo said the event serves as a platform for tourism and cultural exchanges, helping industry participants build partnerships and explore new avenues for cooperation.

Iyas introduced Maldivian's latest developments and outlined the airline's network connecting the Maldives with major Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu in Sichuan province. The carrier also released updated flight schedules during the event.
