*Unfinished Time*, an exhibition at the Taikang Art Museum in Beijing, honors the innovative spirit and endeavors of the 1980s and '90s. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

The pieces on show are by figures active in the art and culture circles at the time, whose work reflects the economic and social scene, as well as mentalities at a time when China was actively embracing reform and opening-up.

The exhibition, which runs until June 15, investigates what made China the country it is today, paying tribute to innovators who contributed their physical strength and intelligence to its growth.
