Both Ouyang and Tian studied in Japan, fell in love with drama and art, and forged deep friendships with the Japanese literary and art circles.

After returning to China, they actively promoted the drama movement and enhanced Sino-Japanese cultural and artistic exchanges through dramatic arts.
