Traditional Tunisian food, costumes, films and art works will be unveiled during culture week, presenting to Chinese audiences the dynamic and appealing Tunisian culture. Tunisia is the northernmost country in Africa, bordered by the Mediterranean Sean to the north and east. It boasts eight world heritage sites such as Kairouan, Dougga and the Archaeological Site of Carthage. Culture week will offer a comprehensive display of brilliant Tunisian culture by means of a photo exhibition, traditional music performance, and film screenings. Twelve skilled artists will perform traditional Tunisian music for Chinese audiences, and the films will lift the mysterious veil from Tunisian history and culture. Not only are Tunisian artworks on display during culture week, but some Chinese artworks portraying Sino-Tunisian friendship will also be exhibited.
Ding Wei said that “Tunisia Culture Week” will further promote the understanding between China and Tunisia and solidify their friendship. As a major part of the third Arabic Arts Festival, culture week is also a great embodiment of China’s friendly relations with Arabic countries as a whole.
