Chinese poets connect with European readers in Romania and Germany

German poets asked about rhythm in Chinese poetry, the publication and circulation of poems, modern poetry in school education, translation between Chinese and German, and opportunities for future exchanges. The conversation continued until almost 11 pm, when the poets finally shook hands and said goodbye.

Through international festival readings in Romania and conversations among Chinese and German poets, the program introduced audiences in several European cities to contemporary Chinese poetry and created further opportunities for literary and cultural exchange.

The program was held under the guidance of the International Department of the China Writers Association. It was organized by the Chinese embassy in Romania, the China Cultural Center in Berlin, the Chinese Literature Readers' Club in Germany, and China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Co Ltd, with support from the China International Culture Association and the Shanghai Writers' Association.
