Jingdezhen Ceramics Expo: Where ancient craft meets global creativity

The 2026 China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Fair opened in the renowned "porcelain capital" of Jingdezhen on Oct 18. This event marks the first ceramics expo since the Jingdezhen Handicraft Porcelain Industry Sites were successfully added to the World Heritage list.

Under the theme "Creative Innovation, Empowering Industry", the fair runs until Oct 22, attracting over 1,000 buyers from both domestic and international markets. Ceramic companies, buyers, artists and representatives from trade associations worldwide have gathered in Jingdezhen to discuss ceramic cultural heritage, industry innovation and international cooperation.

The expo showcases a harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary innovation. Highlights include AI-powered ceramic production, the revival of Ru kiln glaze firing, and the fusion of Iranian Mina ceramics with Jingdezhen design. This event underscores emerging trends in the digitalization and internationalization of the ceramics industry.
