Set along the banks of the Xijiang River, Seven Star Crags is a remarkable karst landscape formed by seven limestone peaks. Rising dramatically from the water, the crags stand amid tranquil lakes, while mysterious caves extend deep into the mountains and lush greenery blankets the surrounding scenery.

Long celebrated as one of the renowned scenic destinations of Lingnan — a region in southern China encompassing Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hong Kong, and Macao — the site has attracted prominent figures and literary scholars throughout history, who left behind poems and inscriptions carved into the cliffs. Together, these form one of the most impressive collections of cliff inscriptions in southern China.
