Mountains become a stage for street dance

The event culminated in a gala combining dance battles, performances and other forms of cultural expression.

"Street dance has always developed by breaking boundaries," said Xia Rui, the event organizer and deputy director of the China Hip-Hop Union Committee, founded by the China Dancers Association in 2013. "We hope to break the limitations of traditional stages, bringing dance into the mountains and cities and allowing more spaces to become new platforms for creativity and exchange."
