The 21st Changchun Film Festival kicked off on Sunday in Changchun, Jilin province, featuring 16 shortlisted films selected from 157 entries.

This year's festival, themed "New Era, New Cradle, New Power", includes awards, screenings, and exchanges, as well as tributes to the area's film history. It incorporates elements from the upcoming 33rd Winter Universiade, set for January 2027, to create a blend of cinematic art and ice-snow culture.
