Drama brings Hubei revolutionary heritage to screen

As a tribute to the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 90th anniversary of the Red Army's Long March, the revolutionary drama Jiu Ge Dan Kong (Nine Bullet Wounds) has earned high ratings and critical acclaim, according to a seminar recently held in Beijing.

Based on the real-life experiences of several founding generals from Hubei province, the drama follows the revolutionary journey of its protagonist, Li Zhixin, chronicling his rise from a guerrilla fighter to a senior military officer in the People's Liberation Army.

The series has drawn strong viewership, as evidenced by a single-day rating of 1 percent from CSM Media Research and 1.45 percent from China Audiovisual Big Data, according to China Media Group.

In the series, Li is wounded by gunfire nine times, leaving nine wounds on his body. Each wound represents a key moment in his life, marking his transformation from a young man driven by a desire for revenge for his family to someone striving for the welfare of all Chinese people.
