PAW Patrol joins forces with museum for prehistoric adventure

Young visitors in Beijing can now embark on a prehistoric adventure with beloved animated characters, as Nickelodeon and the Natural History Museum of China have teamed up to launch PAW Patrol: A Museum Adventure from Aug 1 to Sept 15.

This family-friendly event integrates characters from the popular children's animation franchise PAW Patrol into the museum's exhibitions, creating an interactive journey that blends entertainment, science and history. Through self-guided activities, children can follow clues, discover ancient life-forms, search for hidden paw prints, collect themed stamps, and complete challenges inspired by the heroic rescue pups.

As China's only national-level natural history museum, the Natural History Museum of China houses over 430,000 specimens and artifacts, such as the fossil of Juramaia sinensis, the earliest known placental mammal.

The collaboration also highlights the museum's special exhibition Dinosaur Park: Escape from the Dragon's Mouth, China's first 6D immersive dinosaur experience featuring an all-Chinese dinosaur lineup. Opened in June, the exhibition follows Ranran, a Chinese ceratopsian, as it hatches, grows in the jungle, encounters predators, and survives dangerous challenges, allowing visitors to explore paleontology through an immersive storytelling format.

The event coincides with the upcoming release of PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, set to hit Chinese cinemas on Aug 8. In the film, Ryder and the rescue pups encounter dinosaurs after being stranded on a mysterious tropical island and must help save their new friend Rex and his home from a volcanic disaster.

Syahrizan Mansor, Paramount's vice-president for Kids & Family and MTV Entertainment in Asia, stated that the franchise has inspired children worldwide with values such as courage, kindness, responsibility, and teamwork. "We are excited to collaborate with the Natural History Museum of China to bring these values to life, giving children the opportunity to experience real-world science and history through engaging, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity, learning, and adventure," he said.
