Huang Yue, a professor focusing on comparative mythology at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications
Mythical studies not only provide us with evidence of the lives and environments of ancient people, but also allow us to see how our civilizations have gradually advanced to the present day. … By tracing the earliest versions of a myth, we can then examine how it undergoes minor adjustments under the pens of different writers and across various books and narratives. In doing so, we feel as if we have found mirrors through which we can view the spiritual history of a nation.
