The 2026 Beijing International Film Festival opened at Yanqi Lake on April 15, where China's leading fashion brand, Bosideng, staged a runway show blending film and fashion.

The presentation featured three key lines: the high-end line AREAL, Urban Outdoor, and Smart Commute. Set against the lake's reflective surface, distant mountains, and the glow of the setting sun, the show turned Bosideng's seasonal theme ---- "seamless transition between urban and outdoor" --- into an immersive visual experience.

The AREAL high-end product line, created by British designer Kim Jones, combines Eastern pragmatism with Western couture tailoring, using sculptural silhouettes and layered styling to redefine functional fashion. Jones, former artistic director at Louis Vuitton and Dior menswear and Fendi's womenswear and haute couture, joined Bosideng in October 2025.

The Urban Outdoor series integrates advanced protective technologies with adaptable everyday design, while Smart Commute focuses on streamlined pieces suited to both business and social occasions. Together, the collections highlight Bosideng's strength in all-scenario functional apparel.

Founded in 1976, Bosideng has spent five decades advancing technical apparel and has repeatedly won international accolades such as the German Red Dot Award and the ISPO Global Design Award, maintaining its position as an industry leader.

In recent years, the brand has expanded its global presence while strengthening original design. Since 2018, Bosideng has appeared six times at the four major fashion weeks in New York, Milan, London, and Paris. It has collaborated with masters such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Kenzo Takada, and the "godfather of functional wear" Errolson Hugh. Its partnership with Jones, marks a further push into the high-end market.

At the same time, Bosideng continues to draw on the rich Chinese culture. From referencing "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains" as a backdrop at New York Fashion Week in 2018, to showcasing Chinese Su embroidery at the Leonardo da Vinci estate in Milan, and presenting the themed show "Fusion" in Paris to demonstrate the integration of intangible cultural heritage with contemporary fashion, Bosideng blends tradition with contemporary design to amplify Chinese fashion on the global stage.
