Chinese fashion label J Rureminds unveiled its 2026 Autumn/Winter collection at Shanghai Xintiandi on Thursday, as part of the Shanghai Fashion Week, with a show centered on female empowerment. Titled “Power Dressing,” the collection reinterprets 1980s workplace fashion, honoring the spirit of working women breaking boundaries.

The runway was designed as a retro workplace, with rows of desks facing a reversed executive table. The muted set evoked the rigid corporate culture of the 1980s, while the show charted a narrative arc from conformity to self-assertion. In the finale, brighter looks broke the dull workplace tones, culminating in a woman taking the executive seat — a clear gesture of female empowerment and self-realization.

The collection reimagines 1980s power dressing, blending sharp lines with soft textures. Structured plaids meet relaxed silhouettes, while deconstructed cuts offset strong shoulders with fluid lines, shifting the focus from external authority to inner confidence. Fabrics such as plaid, faux fur, and vintage suede create a balance between discipline and ease. The color palette leans into cool tones like charcoal and deep navy, punctuated with warm hues to balance authority and personality.

Founded in 2021, the brand name stems from “Rare Minds,” meaning precious ideas. Led by founder Zhang Jieru, it focuses on deconstruction and wearability, merging masculine and feminine aesthetics to create pieces that are practical, powerful and expressive.

Actor Wang Duo attended the show, engaging with its workplace-themed narrative and amplifying its message of female self-empowerment.
