A cultural and tourism promotion event titled "ITB Chinese Night: Taste of China", was held in Berlin on March 3.
Co-hosted by the China Center for International Cultural Exchange and Tourism Promotion, ITB China, the China National Tourist Office in Frankfurt, and the China Cultural Center in Berlin, the event served as a key China-themed program during ITB Berlin 2026. It was also the first stop of the 2026 "Nihao! China" overseas roadshow series.
Through tourism presentations, cultural performances, food tastings and business networking, the event highlighted China's diverse tourism resources and culinary culture, and strengthened exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and international tourism industries.
Over 300 guests attended the event, including Zheng Hao, vice chair and secretary-general of the World Tourism Alliance; David Ruetz, senior vice president of Messe Berlin; Yang Chengcheng, minister-counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Germany, as well as representatives from international organizations, diplomatic missions, government bodies and the tourism industry.
In a video address, Zhang Weiguo, director-general of the China Center for International Cultural Exchange and Tourism Promotion, highlighted that the event coincided with China's Lantern Festival, emphasizing the value of "harmony" shared by China and the world. Zhang stated that the roadshow was designed to build a platform for the global tourism industry to share resources, explore cooperation, and cultivate lasting friendships.
David Ruetz noted that China remains one of the world's most dynamic tourism markets, and the event served as a key link between the Chinese tourism industry and the global market.
The event also featured vibrant presentations from five partner destinations: Shandong, Hubei, Chongqing, Macao and Yan'an of Shaanxi.
