Spring Festival art event honors horse motif

A Spring Cultural Elegant Gathering was held on Monday at the Beijing Fine Art Academy, bringing together art exhibitions, performances, and cultural experiences to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year.

Hosted by the Information Office of the Beijing Municipal People's Government and organized by the Beijing Fine Art Academy, the event centered on traditional culture under the theme of the Year of the Horse.

More than 100 guests attended, including representatives from Beijing's cultural and arts communities, international visitors, and descendants of noted artists.

The event featured a range of activities, including immersive cultural tours, art exhibitions, traditional Chinese music performances, and hands-on sessions highlighting intangible cultural heritage. Through these activities, organizers sought to foster cultural exchange and mutual appreciation while enriching Beijing's Spring Festival cultural life.

Drawing on the Year of the Horse theme, the exhibition adopted "Post Stations" as its central concept. By re-creating post-station scenes, the exhibition connected historical imagery with contemporary artistic expression. Classic works by Qi Baishi and Xu Beihong were displayed alongside pieces by artists from the Beijing Fine Art Academy, as well as contemporary interpretations of the horse motif.

The exhibition will be open to the public from Feb 11 to March 22. The venue is closed on Mondays and open on public holidays. Admission is free by reservation through the official WeChat account of the Beijing Fine Art Academy. Visitors must present a reservation code and valid identification upon entry.
