At the Third Plenary meeting of the Third Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held on Sunday morning, CPPCC member Chen Jun emphasized the significance of innovatively building a brand for Chinese cultural identity.
She said such efforts create a relaxed atmosphere for young people from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan to engage and absorb the essence of Chinese culture, thereby strengthening national and cultural identification.
Chen, who also serves as the head of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League's Beijing Municipal Committee, revealed that in 2024, the number of Taiwan compatriots that entered the Chinese mainland reached 4.02 million, a 54.3 percent year-on-year increase.
She also mentioned that the 2024 Cross-Strait Chinese Culture Summit and the 2024 Cross-Strait Youth Summit were held successfully. Additionally, mainland-produced TV series such as Blossoms Shanghai and To the Wonder, along with the video game Black Myth: Wukong, received enthusiastic responses in Taiwan. Throughout these exchanges, people from both sides of the Strait have grown closer and more connected.
She encouraged the active integration of modern technology, such as VR and AR, into the inheritance and development of Chinese culture, creating new cultural formats that resonate with youths across the Strait.
