DNA Trio, a chamber music ensemble composed of pianist Zhang Jialin, violinist Zhang Jingye, and cellist Song Zhao, held a concert at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing on Feb 19.
The concert kicked off the ensemble's 20th anniversary celebrations. Between March and May, the trio will be organizing five concerts, including one at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing on May 4.
Founded in 2005, the members are childhood friends and first met as students at the primary school affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
Over the years, they have performed together in China and abroad.
The concert on Feb 19 featured pieces from different genres, including a combination of Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata, D 821, Zhou Jing's Autumn, as well as music by Japanese composer Koji Tamaki, and an adaptation of Chinese folk song, and music by Michael Jackson.
